I know I “retired” over a year ago from “blogging” – it’s not really my thing. But lately I’m finding myself having a lot of extra thoughts that I need to get out, so I am going to make an effort to stop through this bloggery more often.
For now, I’m very happy to let you all know that UrbLife.com is finally a reality. It’s been a tough road the past couple of years getting it together – not for lack of good ideas or energy on my part, but unfortunately because of situations that were out of my control.
I think one of the hardest lessons to learn in life is that not everyone will share your passion or vision, so you really do have to trust yourself and make moves despite any amount of dissent looming around you.
It’s also hard to accept that you can’t control everything or everyone, even when you have the best of intentions. Mom always did say that good intentions pave the road to hell… One day I’ll learn.
That said, next week I celebrate the journey of step one of a dream in a series of dreams, which really only means that the hard work is just beginning. I’m ready to be the Martha Stewart of Hip Hop… check for me in 20 years and you’ll see what I mean. I was built for this.
